What software?

I am looking for the most intuitive (and cheapest) recording software. I am a musician and have no need for loops or digital instruments. Just wanna plug and play. Eq and effect, and maybe a little editing. Don't need bells or whistles. I would like to be able to use the interfaces I have, a tascam us-428 and mobilepre usb. From what I have seen, maybe the Guitar tracks pro would fit me?

thanks

Yeah Guitar Tracks Pro 3 is basically designed for the guitarist. It's all audio, no synths or midi or any of that. It's cheap...but Reaper's cheaper! Maybe you could just dl that...it's free. And it's a good app. I used to use Guitar Tracks Pro 2...now I use Reaper, coz I want to use synths and midi. Anyhoo, it'll work well for what you want to do.

REAPER ( www.reaper.fm ) works forever for FREE until you get guilty enough to pay the cheap $40 shareware fee. Does more than 95% of us need.

Another cheap setup is to go out to the bookstore and get a copy of "Computer Music" magazine. On every issue's DVD they give away a fully working suite of audio programs including sequencers, plugins and audio samples. (Last year they gave away a full $150 copy of SamplitudeV8SE, so it pays to watch what they put on every month's disk....)

Here's another pile of stuff:

There used to be one called Kristal or something like that which was totally free and seemed ok too. Not sure if it's still around though.
