What overhead mics Should I use??

Yea im going to mic some drumz and Im going with a shure mic package of 3 (sm57's) and a (beta 56) but I dont know what kind of mics I should use over head?

From most expensive to least expensive:

Neumann KM-184s
AKG 451s
Shure SM-81s
Audix TR-40s
Oktava MC-012s
Marshall MXL-603Ss

Large diaphragm condenser mics, while not as popular, can also be used, with different degrees of success.
 
Yea what he said! I like the 81's alot. Neumann.........they just rock in general! So does harvey, but thats a different thread!
 
I hope you mean beta52 on the kick drum...and you are probably overpaying for that package....unless you need the extra 57's, Id get a AKG D112 for kick($219), sm57 on snare($79) and 2 marshall mxl603's for overheads(or 2 mxl1000's)($150)......

:D Thanks guys,,,,,,,,,,,Very nice list harvey ,,I got alot more choices now.............and yes the shure package was just for the extra 57's ,,,and your probly right it does seem to much for beta.................



If im famous one day I will be sure to mention all of you guys names who replied to my stupid questions....
