What mixer?

Say you have $3,000 for a mixer and all you ever need is 8 channels of mic/line input. What would you buy and why. I have already looked at the TL Audio M3, all Tube mixer ($2,999)... I never plan on expanding past my MOTU 828, all I need are the 8 inputs.

I would say you could get one hell of an 8 channel mixer for that much. If it was me, I would do some research first on what's available for that price. Then go to a few music stores and actually see and feel a few. The main thing is, do your research.
 
I was thinking about Soundcraft, A & H, Midas, Crest, but no one in Wichita KS carries them, how about OKC or KC?
