I'm looking to start a small home recording setup. I just got a new iMac so I was thinking that I would record in GarageBand. So which preamp and condenser mic should I get? If possible, I'd like to stay under $300. I don't need professional quality equipment, but I want better sound quality than recording straight from my amp to the speaker on the computer. And is there anything else that I should need to get started?
