what is the suggested range to setup monitors at?

as in how many feet apart and feet above the ground,

I have the YSMi's if it matters,

Also is there a suggested level to keep the TA1600 at for each channel, I keep them at 12:00
 
Generally, near field monitors, the type most commonly encountered, should be set at the height of your ears when sitting in the control station. Determine the distance as follows: Get up real close and personal, where you can hear the tweeter and the woofer as separate sounds. Then move back slowly, until the two sounds blend into one, and you can no longer separate them. This is called the near field. Stop, you're there. The distance will vary depending on the room and the size of the monitors.-Richie
