what is the response direction/rejection angle of my mic?

very newbie question: I have an at4033, where does the cardioid response originate from. meaning, what direction from the mic. for example, with sm57, it is the direction the mic is pointed. because the 4033 is side-adress, does that mean the response is on the side of the mic. the side with the AudioTechnica emblem. hopes this makes sense. thanks
 
directional patterns are 3 dimensional....but yes, with ATs the emblem is the business side. too many people think that the mic ONLY picks up the area of demonstrated pattern on paper.... :eek:
