What is the front of a condenser mic

I was just curious and did not want to open up my condenser mic.

Is the front the side of the diaphram with the wire attached or the other side?
 
This should be pretty easy to ascertain even if you don't have the docs provided it IS a directional microphone!

Run it thru your signal chain to a pair of headphones but nowhere else.

Get your face a fixed distance away from the mic in any orientation and whistle enough to get a signal at your meter ( 0dB to -6dB)

Then turn the mic 90 degrees, 180 degrees and 270 degrees, and measure the same whistle volume at the same distance.
 
I know which side is the front, Its labled on the Mic But, I want to know if the front is the side which has the wire connected to the center of the diaphram.
I can't see through the screen its too tight.

Just something I was curious about
