what is a hard copy

I have just recorded an album using my tascam msr 16,I then sent it of to a record label who said they will use my album but before they can he needs a hard copy, I don’t know what he means by this.all recordings were transferred over to pc and burned to cd in wav format,this is what I sent him and is the finished product so what can he mean by a hard copy. Can anybody shed some light on this for me

I am guessing that you mean you mixed the album to the computer and burned the CD as wave?

If that's what you meant I would also guess that the label wants a mastered CD in CD format to send to the pressing plant.

Why don't you just ask them what they want and also ask if they have a sheet for the master format? I would think they will also want you to supply the artwork in the correct format as well so you will need the spec sheets for this.
