What happen? (My 1st thread of Sept!)

What happen in my computer? I hear crunching audio from inside the case???
Is it going a die? What can I replace right now?

Hard drives and CD/DVD ROMs are the only computer components with moving parts. It's likely a hard drive dying. BACK UP EVERYTHING NOW!

actually, there are lots of fans in most computers as well. Could be a fan out of whack or with a loose screw. Or just a cable rubbing a fan blade. With noises like that Ive seen it be fans about 75% of the time and hard drives the other 25%. (taking out of account cd/dvd's which should only make noise when you're using them)

fans usually cause a "whirring" noise.
