Ok so I am preety new to recording and I bought some stuff with Christmas money and used some of the things I had to make myself a little studio.

First off.. I am using my computer.

AMD Athlon X2 5800+ 3.0ghz
3GB DDR2 RAM
ATI HD 4870 512mb Video card
500GB Hard Drive
Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe Motherboard

For the interface I went with:

Emu 0404 USB 2.0 Audio/MIDI Interface

For my Microphone I went with:

Audio Technica AT2035

For headphones I went with:

Sennheiser HD280 Pro Headphones

For monitors I went with some speakers I already had:

Klipsch B-3 Synergy Bookshelf Speakers

I am using on an integrated soundcard is that fine. Is there anything I am missing?

Your not using the PC soundcard once the EMU is hooked up. That basically takes the place of that.

Is there anything else you need? Depends on how serious you want to get. If your doing this as a hobby then you should be set up pretty well. If you plan on doing this seriously, well there are tons of things you will need to think about. First lets find out how serious you are and what you plan on recording.

Im going to start off with some Hip Hop recording over premade beats. I would like to later make my own beats. Thats more down the road.

My question still stands, how serious are you trying to get? Monitors and room treatment will be some of your top priorities if your trying to get serious. Id say once you decide to jump in all the way is when you should start looking into more equipment. For just recording some stuff to show right now, your setup is fine.
