what does it mean?

what does it mean when your mixes only sound good when the stereo is at a low volume, and then it just distorts, where another cd will just get louder. not talking about balrring it out at a rediculous volume, just loud enough to filter through the house.

Possibly it was clipping already during tracking....

Or you didn't set your compressors properly...

Or your mixing was bad....

Or you didn't use proper gainstaging...

Or....

it goes on & on like this for hours on end....
 
Could have blown up the speaker real good. Some cuts will make it misbehave and others with less distortion won't... maybe ;)
