LOL, thats a lot of gear. I half a fraction of that. I would like to hear what you get out of all that gear.

*Roland's MC-909 Groove Box/Sampler, (but, I dont think its the best tool in the world for hiphop production the more I get into it the more I wonder, does alright for now.)

*Boss Dr-770 drum machine. (Nice sounds/pain to program.)

*Eurorack UB802/(cheap and limited, works for now.)

*A Yamaha Keyboard(Just used mostly to for midi and triggering sounds/samples).

*Tascam 788 digital 8-track recorder.

*Rode NTK Condensor TubeMicrophone(nice and warm)

*Shure SM-58 dynamic mic

*For mixing we just drop it all into Cool Edit Pro and shake it up til we get a good mix...................

@ jdizzel, you stated you have a "ROLAND MIDI CONTROLER" What is it used for. The reason Im asking is because I am wanting to get some kinda of "MIDI Mixer".

My situation is I have to unplug my sampler midi cable from my recorder to plug in the keyboard to control sounds on my sampler, but when I lay a beat out to be recorded, I gotta switch the midi cables around. I hate unpluggin things and re-plugging them back. It just sucks. Is that what the "Roland Midi Controller" does? If not, do you or anyone have any advice as to what type of gear I need for my situation. pm thanx.........

Hey,

Well, I don't have an actual keyboard, I have a Roland XV 5050 sound module. I use the Roland midi controller to get the sounds out of the roland.

My plan was to get as much keyboard modules as I can and use that one midi controller to get the sounds of out all of them. That way, as you stated, I don't have to keep pluggin and unpluggin things because I hate that myself.

The controller is plugged into the sound module and module is plugged into Digi 001, which comes with a mixer.

Lets see I got...

My homemade computer
delta 44
Nuendo 2
Fl Studio i think 4.0
A pile of Waves Plug-ins
T.C. Works m300(nice and cheap reverb)
presonus bluetube(wack)
beyerdynamics mic(live and studio work)
a cheap condensor mic and a AKG c3000b(hate this piece of shit)
behringer mixer(that i use exclusivly as a headphone amp)
Behringer Truths monitors.
Some sony headphones that my cats have chewed

We do all the recording in my apartment

My mans does all the production in his apartment and he has all the vinyl. I got only a few crates of some hiphop...

Now I am in the market for a new mic. Probably a NTK. A really sweet pre-amp is in the works, some monitor headphones, a Mackie Big Knob and a power conditioner. New monitors eventually. But so far so good. PEace

It depends on the day, but before last week i used...

mpc 2000xl w/ trition, mo phatt, bass station, k station, korg microkorg. I sample soul & 70s records from my technics 1200's onto the MPC or soundforge 6.0, or Roland GrooveSampler sp505. I usually sequence with my mp, but some days I use Acid 4.0 or FL Studio. I record thru my Motu 828 to a Mac G4. I burn my cds on a tascam cdrw 700. My music is an ongoing process, most of these are tracks that will be later combined with setup I'm putting together now. Which is an MPC 60 & Sp1200 thru a Soundcraft 24/8 Spirit Mixer into a korg d1600. Some of my tracks will be recorded to 2 inch for an even warmer feel. Its art with an understanding of science. Patience boys.

My arsenal

Korg Triton Pro
AW16G 16 track digital recorder
Alesis MI MKII active monitors
ICT Standalone EQ
Oktava 319 Condensor mic
Boss DR 770 Drum Machine
trumpet, music samples, random sounds
