What do I Need??

If it was me...

I would use a PC setup with Tracktor DJ studio and a hardware controller...im not really a fan of vinyl and turntables.
 
it all kind of equipment you can use to DJ..you can do the PC thing(just for mixtapes..unless you doin the laptop thing), Vinyl(turntables) but you gotta lug all those records along..or the Top CD Loader way..which is becoming more and more popular nowadays.. some good book for you to read:
