WHat do I need to run my Rosetta 800...

I have been using a Digi002 Rack with PT 8 LE in the past and I am getting my rig up and running after a long while. I think Ive read that I do not need a Digidesign interface to run Pro Tools any longer. Is this true?

I would like to run my Apogee Rosetta 800 with something else maybe of higher quality without built in preamps and still use Pro Tools LE.

What would this be called? An interface? What are some good ones out there?
 
OK, I think ive figured something out. I can just use the Rosetta's "analog input" cables to connect directly into the converter. OK so Now I am assuming If I get Pro Tools 9 I will not need anything else in the chain?

By the way I am using a brand new Macbook Pro 15inch which has a Firewire input.
