Nero 9 Essentials should be just fine for doing any basic functions such as data, audio, and MP3 discs. I'm still using Nero 6 "lite" on my XP machine, it does almost everything.

I am building a computer with windows 7. I have this dvd/cd drive: Newegg.com - LITE-ON Black 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 12X DVD+R DL 24X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA 24X DVD Writer LightScribe Support
It comes with Nero 9 essentials. should I bother with this software, or what is a good burning software to use. I want to use this to put my music on discs and also copy other cds, dvds, make playlists of mp3 etc.

Well if you are looking for opinions, then mine is set on "CD Architech" by Sony.

If you plan on creating music CD's, and you don't want to concern yourself with the details, this is the program that will do the job for you.
