I am looking into purchasing Wavelab and I see Wavelab essential 6 for $100
and wavelab studio 6 for $300 and wavelab 6 for $550

which one do I get?

I've never mastered anything before and I use protools 7.3
 
wavelab essential should be enough. more than enough, actually... It's a pretty good program. easy to use...
 
How much do you want to spend ?? The essential is pretty dam neuterd , and studio is about right for most people. The main thing you get for $550 is amongst others , the spectral editor which can do some seriously nifty stuff. Takes some time to learn but can be a real helpfull tool .
