Wave form different from multitrack CEP

So i usually record myself 2-3 minutes at a time playing certain riffs until i get it exactly how i want it, then i go in and cut out the stuff i dont want.

but later when i am looking at the wave form, i see everything even the stuff i cut out, and sometimes when i save it and reopen the session, i hear all that sutff that i cut, even though its not showing up on the multitrack form...

If I understand correctly, it's probably because you're working in Multitrack view.

Any editing you do (or effects you add) are non-destructive there so they leave your originals intact and unchanged. Working in Waveform or Edit view (same thing...they've just changed the name) results in permanent changes to your files.
