Want my mm8 voices through cubase

I have Cubase 6 and W7. I have a Yamaha MM8. I usually set it to pc mode so i can use it with Halion SE. That's always good. But I want to use my MM8 voices. I believe the voices are sent over, but I can't seem to get it to work. I know there's a way to do it - I'm just not doing it right. Can anyone help me out?

I think the mm8 only sends midi through the usb connection.

You may have to run the audio out of the mm8 back to an audio input of your pc soundcard to get the voices.

But there's an ability to "send" the voices over and I did. I can see them in a folder structure in a Midi configuration window.

Hello hnia6,

With the MM8 you can only control the patches and the sound banks within Cubase, bu it does not work like a VST Instrument. Only the Motif and MOX series from Yamaha have a Studio manager and can be used as a VST.

In your case you will have to send the sound back as audio.

Yes, you can install the MM8 device and manage it in Cubase.
To do that please go to:
Devices > MIDI Device Manager > Install Device > and from the list select the Yamaha MM

Best regards,
GN
