Holy Crap! I pick up the latest copy of mix today and what do I see in the new products section. Rolands releasing a 2480! Didn't they just release the 1880? Damn, I think that's kinda a milestone for stand alone units. 24 tracks......damn!

If the GUI thru the VGA monitor is cool, I'll seriously reconsider ditching my plan for the Mackie 24/96 or Tascam MX2424 - sell my Mackie 24 channel board and just throw the dough into this baby...I think the automated faders are the selling point

It's all very cool, but (as a VS1880 owner) I think not being able the use alot of outboard gear is a big minor. (On the VS1880, you're limited to 2 devices... and this EXCLUDES the internal eff boards!)

But the moving faders... Yep, very nice. But for the money, I'd buy one of them digital boards, and a more versatile system...
