Volume Pedal - oil or graphite?

I would use neither. WD-40 evaporates to leave a sticky residue and may leave you worse off than you were. Graphite is a dust that doesn't stay where you leave it and can get into pots. It's somewhat conductive.

I'd use Teflon grease.
 
I had a landlord that swore up and down that oil from the sides of his nose was the best lube on his door locksets.
