Which preamps would you pick first!

Vlz, direct out, line in in the digi 002, or, Digi preamps.

Why not try both and see which sounds better for your source? If you already have them, then there really is no better way to answer the question.
 
The 002 pre's are pretty lifeless. They are the last thing in my signal chain I will use.
 
I'm not particularly impressed by the pres in the 002, or by those in a Mackie mixer. I don't think it makes a hell of a lot of difference. But by all means, A/B them and let us know what you hear.-Richie
