I'd consider looking for some higher quality samples, since you obviously like what you're doing; you should have the right tools for the job. There's a big difference between the violins and the other instruments in terms of perceived quality.


Your voice sounds like Weird Al when he's singing legitmately, like one of his originals; has anyone ever told you that?
 
Sorry that wasn´t nice. Just, you know, working on a mix for days and you know about the sound of this singer etc. etc. pff
 
The vocal is less nasal than it is adnoidal.
It works OK but the thing would be ebtter if he didn't have a cold or wasn't a little flat.
Mellotron? Real or samples? Sounds sampled to me.
The arrangement would work if you grabbed a real 'tron or real strings. As is they're a good sketch for the song's arrangement's sake. The tones are a little cheesey in the solo section.
Good song & nice playing all 'round though. The "string" melody reminds me of Words by the BeeGees.
