Vintage 30 question

YO,

Is there any difference with Cabs that have the same speakers in them? For example, would a Laney 4x12 with Vintage 30's sound the same as a Mesa 4x12 with vintage 30's? Ive been searching for a new Cab for awhile and Mesa stuff is just so expensive.

Any suggestions?

Yes cabs can vary greatly in tone even with same speaker.

If you can't afford an "original" of your desired cab, try to find out how it is constructed then find a similar made cab. Quality cabs are made of birch ply. Lower quality would be particle board.

Vibroworld makes some nice 4x12 cab that are identical to old '68 Marshall cabs. A straight cab from them would be nice with V30s (but you should also check out G12-H 30s if you haven't already).

But I think you have the right idea not to get hung up on brand name.
