Sooo Ive seen this question a bunch of times. How does one sidechain a tone into their kick?!?
Well I was Making some "dope beats" for fun cuz I was bored. And I discovered how to do it in Cubase le4.
As you can see in the picture I added the test tone to the actually kick track insert, and chose the tone I wanted to use. Now you have a tone playing throughout the whole song very useful right? Now this is the important part. Add the gate insert after the test tone insert. Now just simply adjust the gate until it lets the kick and tone through. You may have to adjust the output of the tone till its balanced with the kick in order that the gate reacts to both.
And that is it.
Wait till you hear this track, it is hilarious!
