Using mod wheel via midi (my keyboard does not have a mod wheel)

Hey all,
It's been forever since I've been here.

Here's my scenerio:

I've got a Yamaha Motif 8 (classic), a Yamaha Piaggero (NP11) and a Roland XV-3080 module. The NP11 was given to me and I'd like to use it to control the Roland module, but it's got no pitch bend nor mod wheel. It has Midi IN and OUT. I'm wondering if I can somehow route my set-up to allow me to use my mod wheel on my Motif to affect the Roland sounds being played via the NP11. Here's how I have it set up currently:

Motif midi in to NP11 midi out, then Motif midi thru into the Roland. Roland is channel 1, Motif is channel 2. This setup allows me to play the Roland sounds on the NP11, but I believe I'm not routed right or setup right to allow mod wheel data to get into the signal. I *think* the NP11 echos data, so I think I have to get the NP11 midi in involved here somewhere, just don't know for sure.

Any thoughts? To summarize, I want the play the sounds on the Roland via the NP11 and also use the mod wheel on the Motif to affect the sounds from the Roland.

Warren
