Using home surround to master.

Hi, i was wondering if anyone has had any experience with home surround sounds as monitors. I have a VERY nice 52' lcd with a very nice subwoofer and a nice surround system. I have checked to see if the cables are the same as the inputs on my tascam dp02. I was just wondering if anyone knows if it sounds anygood? Thanks for the help..

There's no harm in trying it.

However, home theatre systems are not designed for audio mixing. For example, the sub will be good for movie rumbles and explosions, but may not be very precise for musical bottom ends.

alright cool man thanks. I just didn't want to damage the unit by over powering it or something. (like i haven't done that before).
