Dell XPS 420 quad along with a used Presonus firebox both units will be bought separate but both units are used at a price I can afford.
Also have a ton of plugins that require a Intel dual core 2.1 or higher figured this used Dell should do the trick along with the firebox for my track by track recording needs.
Let me rephrase the question has anybody ever use a Dell XPS 420 for recording with a fire wire interface?
Intel quad core 4g Ram
TI chipset on the 1394 card
500g 7200rpm HD
DVD/CD combo drive
Figured this might be a decent PC for 24 trax with 2-6 plugs per track using Reaper.
Like to have some input before I shell out $400 for a used PC.
My current rig I have upgraded to the max and it's showing it's age and most of the new plugins now a days has raised the CPU usage and my current rig can't support the plugins I wanting to buy.
