Unwanted noise in audition

I have audition 2.0, it has worked perfectly for months. I opened it up to do some voice overs, like I normally do, only now it has this weird digitized sound coming through. It makes my voice sound like I am talking through a tin can??

I used Mixcraft and Cubase without any trouble. Only adobe gives me problems?

Any suggestions?
