Hi i used to be able to use ne type of cdr for my machine but now it spitd it back out and says type of media is wrong after several diff brands...ne1 know what tupe to use or why this may happen?

It's probably a problem with your machine. As far as I know, all the cd-r's are made in one of two factories. They are all essentially the same.
The only other thing I can think of is your machine only accepts 74 minute CD's and not the 80 minute ones that are more common.

if your machine is an older one, they used to only take 'music' cdr's. I have one of my recorders that I still use that is 15 yrs old and will only recognize a 'music' cdr. you can find them on ebay very easily.
