Two great acoustics.....

For those of you interested in adding to your steel string acoustic collection, I played a couple a real beauties over the weekend. The first was a Taylor Grand Symphony, spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides. I play mostly fingerstyle and this guitar is perfect for that style. It has a low profile neck that is wider than the typical dreadnaught (its 1 ¾”). It has a very balanced tone across the bass, mids and treble. It has a pretty wide lower bout which is probably why the bass rings so well. Fit and finish were flawless. I highly recommend it if you can spare the $2000 to get it. The second great guitar was the Martin Steve Miller model. Also great for fingerstyle with a 1 ¾” low profile neck. It’s a short scale and really easy to play. I’ve played a lot of Martins and I think this is the best player I’ve ever seen. A great guitar in the $2200 range. It will be very difficult to choose between these two fine players. Have you had similar experiences with these guitars?
