Two days left before final decision

I ordered MOTU 24 i/o which runs a 96 khz. in the meantime, I have been thinking that I might be better off just going for the couple of extra bucks and getting the 192 HD. I am sure the track count will suffer and I will have difficulty with hard drive speeds. I think that at 192 there will be some serious CPU problems once the track count gets higher and the edits get denser and I try to use plug-ins as well. I think that the 24 ins and outs at 96 khz will be pretty nice and will not require an immediate computer upgrade from a G4 since I only have a single processor running at 733 mhz.

Whatever should I do?

I smell a 192k hype....
I don't know your situation, but do you NEED 24 ins and outs ? Do you HEAR the difference between a 24track 96k project and the same in 44k ?


I'd rather have a very good 44k/24b system than a mediocre 192k system.
