Turning/refreshing guides/lifters on a 388...

Well, um, gee...

I was thinking of "turning" a fresh side to the tape, more than 'turning' new ones on a lathe.

But hey, I'm glad somebody in the house has a lathe :D

Honestly, I don't know whether the lifters / guides can be turned over. I haven't probed that far into the machine. I don't know if they're held by a screw or welded on there for good.
 
Well, it 'looks' like for the guides I could simply loosen the screws above them, and give 'em a twist. But I sure don't want to screw anything up, since I just got her back from the shop.

the lifters would no doubt be trickier...
