Oh, I thought you were using the device as a line driver. Where did I see those specs anyway... OPA344 may be worth looking at. I agree with you on using the transformer, it's an elegant solution.

OPA344 is stingy, but fairly severe noise penalty there. I think the moral of the story is that an opamp is probably a phantom-powered solution only.

Wow, just clicking around their micropower stuff, that is insane. From what I hear, that is where most of the development money goes these days.
