transfering wavefiles

I want to transfer track by track from my tascam 788 to my computer using an audiophile 2496 soundcard and wavelab lite. I don?t have the tascam burner so I have a digital cable and a midi cable connected. How am I going to do it so that when I press record on wavelab, the tascam plays at the same time so that I won?t have to worry when I place the wavefiles in a sequencer?

You'll have to do it 2 tracks at a time.

Once you get them in your s/w, just line them up by hand

Yeh, I don't know if Wavelab can sync to MTC time code, maybe it can.

Don't forget to switch the Audiophile s/pdif master clock to External (in the Delta panel) when using the cards s/pdif in, and switch it back to Internal when you're done.
