Trakmaster for recording bass?

Greets to all from sunny London,

I have a Nuendo DAW and want to record bass guitar into it via my Hammerfall soundcard.

I read that the Focusrite Trakmaster is a perfect channel strip for this, anyone know otherwise before I go and blow 200 sheckles?

My main worry is not being able to do fancy stuff later on like miking the amp and mixing this with the direct signal, since the Trakmaster has only one channel.

If anyone knows of any articles or anything that would be great.

Yes i am an utter and total noob so and no I don't care.
Obliged,
Klytus

I wouldn't know why the Focusrite in specific would be perfect for this, but don't you have a simple D.I. lying around ?? I just finished recording an album (as a player) today and all electric bass things were through a simple (studio-built) DI (-> desk -> protools).
Check if the amp you want to mic doesn't have one
(I *love* the tube D.I. in my SWR 400 top)
