Lost Cause
I had the hi-fi 8.2's, and was getting a bit fed up with having to use the headphones to listen to the bass. Am a bit budget limited. I found a pair of used Genelec 2029A's (they are the little baby ones, with their own D/A converters) and a 1091 sub in a used gear shop, did a trade in (I guess they are six or seven years old) and paid some cash.
Well, a very definite improvement, not just at the bottom end (but mostly there) but much greater transparency and separation. They certainly don't flatter anything
