track is broken and slow...

here's my problem had a project going on home studio 9 running windows 98 , mixed it down but a few days later when i went back to do some more work all the soundfile images were gone except for one and it was really slow...all th other projects i had are fine but this one seems to have gotten all screwed up...is there anything i can do maybe to recover it the last thing i did was mix it down then save it again and power the computer down ...also i'm running a 633 mhz processor and it worked fine but this particular song had about 7 trks, did it just melt down ??? thanks in advance for any help

Sounds like maybe your picture cache got full. It can take a long time to redraw, 'specially on an old computer.

Try raising the size of the cache. If HS9 is like Sonar, it should be in your aud.ini file. Change the line PicCacheMB=20 to something higher. Depending on the amount of disk space you have available, I would try 100 or 200.
