this guy is a genius

At least somebody informed this Nimrod that that is a side-address mic. Another example of why you shouldn't teach what you don't know.-Richie

Wow...

I'm glad he spent $300 on that mic when he probably should be using a headset mic...

And when was the v67 discontinued? Well I guess it was replaced with the v67i.
I laughed so hard at this video that the whole left side of my body was hurting.

Poor bloke.

Wow.....$300 for a vintage V67!
Well, at least it came with built in reverb........

Dumb? Absolutely. But still can't compare to everyone's good friend, Tad Donley. Here's another gem from everyone's favorite half-baked home studio "expert": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N97iKNdfVTs

Remember, kids. No microphone can ever sound good, unless it's a U87. AKG mics apparently make you sound like your mouth is full of peanut butter, which is absolutely no good at all.

WTF!?!?
It must be true because I heard it on the internet.;)

Isn't it pronounced "Noy-Min"?

Maybe I have been saying it wrong for all these years.

No, you are correct. Tad is, surprisingly, not up to par with his German. Odd, because he has apparently been using only the U87 for some time. Perhaps he doesn't get out much... or interact with human beings other than his dope supplier. :D

No, you've got it wrong. That's the Newman's Own U87. Paul Newman was building them in his kitchen, and so many people asked for one that he started selling them for charity.

Seriously, though- one more Nimrod that shouldn't teach what he doesn't know. Damn, that AKG mic produces the peanut butter sound, huh? They must have somehow eq'd it out of Celine Dion, who uses a C414. Oh well. Death to the idea that there are good vocal mics and bad ones. There are only right ones and wrong ones. Admittedly, some mics are right more often than others, and you could do a lot worse than a "Newman" U87. One thing's for sure, though- you won't find me paying that self-appointed expert to track my next album. And I think I'll just stick with B.L.U.E. Kiwi, SM7b, Rode NTK, and occasionally, a C414, when I want to get that sound of the peanut butter sticking to the roof of my mouth. Maybe if the dickhead wasn't so sibilant, and his diction didn't suck, he'd have less problems with the high end sheen on a C414.-Richie
