I'm looking at getting a delta 1010lt. It seems to have every thing i need. at least two inputs, midi, mic pres, and i think i will be able to hook up monitors and hopefully my logitech 5.1 system to play movies( i cant run two pci sound cards can i?)

will i be able to control output volume from the card (i dont have a mixer for monitors)?

is there any other cards i should consider?in that price range of course

how are the converters on the 1010?the mic pres?

Yes you should be able to get those 2 cards to play nicely together in your PC.

Yes, the 1010lt comes with the M-Audio Control panel which lets you adjust the relative volumes of what you're recording and playing back.

The converters are good. Haven't heard any complaints about the pres.

For the money you pay, and what you get, it's hard to beat

i got a audigy 2 sound card, the logitech 5.1 system i was referring to is my 5.1 speaker system.

i might need to get a mixer anyway so i can have a headphones out!

Yeah I have a 1010lt and an SB Audigy running in my PC together just fine, however when it comes to recording in Sonar, they don't like each other much. The Delta records just fine but if I try to record with the SB (i.e. recording its midi synth), my system locks up. Still haven't found a workaround within Sonar, but I figured out I can use Cakewalk's Pro Tracks to do that instead. Go figure.

But yeah no complaints about the card other than that, sounds nice, works nice.
