Hello all. I'm new to the forum and need a little advice. I recently bought Pro Tools Express with an Mbox 3 after using PT SE with the Fast Track interface for a couple of years. I am having a lot of difficulty with trying to get sound through my mic. The first time I hooked it up for a test run it seemed to work just fine. But now, for some reason, it won't work. The only time I can hear anything is when I shout into the mic, and that's barely audible. I've checked the cord, and unplugged it a couple times so it appears the connections are all good. Any ideas as to what might be causing this problem?

What kind of mic is it?
How did you check the cable? Did you swap it out for another one?
Is there a pad on your mic or interface that you might have engaged by mistake?
Do the track input meters look healthy in ProTools, or are they low too?
Do you have the same problem with a line or instrument input?
