Just got my AKG C1000S and wanted to thank everyone that helped me make my decision. I couldn't be happier. I can tell (at least I think so) a huge difference between recording acoustic with this mic and the sm57. Thanks for the help everyone. NOW for a large diaphragm!

I second that emotion. For my level of experience, type of music, and compatability with the gear I have, my recently acquired AKGc1000s has made a noticable improvement. The input provided here both pro and con was extemely helpful - and provided some great yuks as well. May we all continue to make ze be-yoo-tee-ful music togezzer!
