Texas is a big state. Didn't rain at my house at all today.
The weather people showed almost the entire state covered in rain earlier, and implied lots of flooding everywhere...though now it looks like it's pulled a bit further north, and over in to Oklahoma.
Hey...at least it ends the drought you guys were having in that state.
Yeah, we got a ton of rain earlier today. Flash flood watches, but I didn't see anything bad. There's a tornado warning in our county right now and it might actually be a tornado. Which is weird, they're usually false alarms. More rain tonight. It's all good. Apparently, we're out of our drought altogether, but the lake levels are still real low. This is beneficial rain.
The only downside is all the fire ants that pop up after a good storm.
Has it been unusually cool in Austin? It's been a weird kind of cool around here. Like rain cooled air, but without the rain.
Hmmmm.Flooding down in Texas?
Are all the telephone wires down?
Some. we lost power for a while. I saw some news footage last night of the Blanco river flooding. That impressed me.
Outside of the cool weather we've been having, and the fact that we're actually getting rain and maybe not in a drought anymore, the storms last night were typical Texas weather. I think Oklahoma on up gets it way worse than we do.

I am curious as well.
My wife, myself and daughter were planning on a vacation to the West coast the first week of June. Mostly to have our daughter see the ocean on the south side.
Now after the oil spill we are thinking coastal road trip from Florida to Texas. Been to the West coast a few times already. Time for something new.
Any recommendations? Wanna meet somewhere for a soda pop?
the awesome coastline of Tx.
I love the gulf coast. Touring the entire gulf Coast line would be a blast IMO. The clear blue water of Fla., the military ships to tour in Alabama, the southern hospitality, awesome food, and casinos of Mississippi, the swamp tours of La., the awesome coastline of Tx.
With its unbelievable fishing.
There is something for everyone in the family on that road trip.
That one leaves me scratching my head. lol
The coastline of Texas is not awesome. Yes, it's 800 miles of beach. It's not gorgeous scenic blue water white sand beach though. It's brownish/green water and the sand is kind of like a brownish sand/clay mix.
But if you wanna fish, Texas has good fishing.
