Could anyone tell Me how to connect a Casio PX 100 digital keyboard directly into a Tascam 2488 neo. Would I use the midi outlets or could I
run something from the earphone outlet to input H on the front or something in the back. Has anyone ever done this, is it safe to do so?
Thanks to all.

There isn't really an ideal way to connect that keyboard as it lacks line level outputs.

Usually analog audio is sent and received in the form of balanced line level signals.
This 'standard' means that the expected voltage and impedance are correct.

Your headphone output will likely be too hot for a line input, but you could turn the volume down and use it.
It's is stereo and unbalanced so you'd want to split it into two separate mono unbalanced signals, then connect those to a pair of line inputs on the neo.

Midi is no use here as it is a data protocol. The midi output will transmit information that another unit can interpret and use to control values, trigger samples, even trigger a separate hardware or virtual instrument.

Hope that's useful.
