TEAC PB-64 as S/PDIF Patchbay?

hi!

does anybody know if the teac pb-64 rca patchbay can be used for patching s/pdif signals safely if used with proper cables?

i don´t know for sure, but i could be dealing with this issue which should be called something like wave resistance (this is just a translation from the german word) which should be 75 ohm - maybe it´s not the case with this patchbay - i tried a search on the web but couldn´t find out yet.

ist this small signal path in the patchbay that critical?

does anybody know if there´s some software to measure this resistance on my soundcard´s s/pdif input?

maybe someone can help me?!

thanks!

You need to be running 75 ohm cable... broadcast video patchbays will work fine but normal audio PB can cause problems.... (increased jitter, intermittent signal...)

I use a broadcast video type patchbay. It's based on BNC type connectors and of course, its charecteristic impedence is 75 ohms. All the cableing I did myself with CommScope video cable. Works without a hiccup.
