decisions decisions... so I'm looking at these two older consoles for about 800 each, to fill a piercing desire that I have to ad some analogue gear to my setup while I await the 02r96 coming in January.

I want 20 channels, direct outs, and a board that I won't want to sell, but will want to keep for warming up some channels, a studio b, mobile work etc.

I record direct to disk with 2 motu 2408 mkIII's.

Any thoughts, knowledge, advice, other suggestions etc.. would be very helpful.

So it's got to cover me for a while, but I don't want to outgrow it.

Thanks.

I have a RAMSA WR-T820B. I love it. It has some of the smoothest 100mm faders you will ever touch. The routing is pretty good, limited in the effects/return arena but thats about it. Neve-ish pre's(What they were modeled after). Good layout and lots of in and outs.

hey son, thanks for the advice, I've been leaning towards this board, over the m520 as some folks seem to absolutely hate the sound of the old tascams and others love it. But the ramsa seems to get your kind of response from users.

Do you have any samples of things you've tracked through it?

Thanks again, that's just the sort of feedback I was hoping to hear.

regebro, why all the shock at ramsa? Have you had different experience?

I have no experience with their mixers, and indeed, I had no idea they even did any. Therefore the shock. The Tascam then seems a safer choice.

But with some good recommendations in the back, they seem more equal.

makes sense...

hey Son, quick Q....

what's the difference between the 820 and the 820b?

I have a line on an 820 for about 800-900 in great condition...

thoughts?

Thanks
