I am recording vocal tracks onto my DP 01. I have all the instrumentals already recorded, so I put them on one track to sing along to, and leave the other 7 tracks to vocals.
I find that if I set the volume too high, my sibilance starts to get really bad with the S's coming too strong, and it just doesn't sound as good as when I record with the volume set lower. The only problem is sometimes this gives it a thinner sound, so I record each vocal onto 2 tracks right now to thicken it up.
My question is, is it alright to record at a lower volume now, and bring it up later either through processors/software, or am I going to have problems getting the volume later on during the mixing stage?
