tascam 2488 Neo Stero Dynamics

I don't have the NEO, but i have the original 2488, which doesn't have the "Stereo Dynamics". "Stereo Dynamics" sounds like a compressor to me. I'm assuming it's used during the mastering stage.
 
It is a compressor or expander and can be used for monitoring or final mix. I wouldn't use it for monitoring, but for final mix, it could be very useful.
