Hey folks. I must be missing something here. Can't figure out what though. I replaced the capstan belt, control belt, pinch roller and idler tires on my tascam 234. Put it all back together, and there is some weirdness. When I press stop, the heads won't disengage. Same when I press one of the fast wind buttons. Actually the rewind button doesn't work, and when I can get it to play by manually engaging the heads and pinch roller by moving the control gear, it doesn't go into record.
Actually I can't figure out if the heads are permanently disengaged or permanently engaged. Hmmmm.
