Tascam 144 Mk II problems

I'm using a Tascam US-144 MKII. I don't think it's working right. I upgraded to Win 7 and suddenly I don't get any signal. If I connect the USB cable, the USB light does NOT light up - rather the MIDI In light glows red. Is this a problem with the hardware? I've tried it on my Win XP laptop as well and have the same symptom. I've tried both Audition v3.0 and Audacity. I've tried Win 7 and XP.

Any suggestions?
 
I'm slowly figuring this out. I uninstalled the driver from the Win XP system and reinstalled it and it's working fine now (the USB light comes on rather than the Midi out light). I just can't get it to install on the win 7 system. Anybody else got it working on a Win 7 64 bit system?
 
I got it figured out. It was actually a problem with my usb hub and not the tascam. Using the vista 64 bit driver it's all good now. Odd that tascam has a Win 7 32 bit driver but not 64 bit.
