tapestop-VST plug-in-anyone know how to use it?

thanks, but ive already seen that one.
the problem is, i cant seem to automate the stop part.
what i do is, create the mixed down stereo track in sonar, place tapestop in the FX part of the track and create an envelope for tapestop. i get the little window that pops up and i choose stop play. for the envelope, i add 4 nodes. 1 starts at 0, 2 starts at the point where i want tapestop to start its thing, 3 is to drag it down way below 0 and 4 is to put it back where it was when it started.
what happens is, i get an overall drop in volume if i go down with the envelope, if i go up, i get an increase.
i cant figure it out. have you automated it?
